watteau. what? oh.
you are on fire with these posts!
to match tit-for-tat, here's a process shot of what i'm working on these days...aka my bedroom right now
i installed a couple small Ikea shelves in my room for all my inks 'n whatnots. i've been making friendship bracelets recently, as i'm going to teach a short workshop on yee bracelets in June.
i decided i wanted to make bracelets for all of my favorite, sad historical painting figures, all the ones who looked like they needed a friend. for instance, (Watteau's) Pierrot. he could use a friend. Here:
after i started making it, i realized he would probably never wear it. although it would look great with his skin color! really.
with love,

wow your post really snuck up on me! I didn't even see it! Awesome work, as usual, my friend!
ReplyDeletepoor Pierrot. I always loved that character. I knew him in childhood from the Russian version of Pinocchio called "buratino", but Pierrot was always Pierrot.
I think this guy also needs a friendship bracelet:

me and Poli would always go visit him at the MFA. He looked like that book was too heavy, and he was kind of tired and overwhelmed. we came to give him moral support.
Last time we were at the MFA he wasn't there anymore. I wondered if it he gave up and became an investment banker instead? Or maybe went off the grid to a farm in northern California? who knows..
p.s.
why do stupid companies always change things that work perfectly fine, and make them stupider, more obnoxious, less effective, full of annoyances and just generally a waste of time, until you get to what you actually want, which already worked fine in the first place? yes, I am talking about blogger. and everything else.
