Ruslan and Lyudmila- sketches round 1

Here are some of the sketches I made for sets and costumes for a Russian play. You can guess what I've been looking at for inspiration. We should do a play together someday.

On a related topic, do you know David Hockney's designs for the Rake's Progress?

A lot more here (and there's music, too!):

oh, and,

DONUTS!

From this cool-sounding comic book/graphic novel that I wanna get my hands on. I like the idea of obsessively-drawn donuts.

more sketches, plus marcel and francesco

I have become totally obsessed with this knitting project. I spent 6 hrs on it today. It's a purple, cabled knit cap, that Selena Gomez wore, or at least I think that is her in these paparazzi photos included in this pattern book ("Celebrity Slouchy Beanies") that I got from JoAnn Fabrics. The cap has taken over my life. I'll post a pic later.

In the meantime, here's one of those diaromas Marcel Dzama made, that we saw in that book at the publication fair:

And some of his puppets!:

And a Francesco Clemente drawing :}

I liked that a lot. Here are some sketches from a couple days ago! Am obviously really into faces these days...:
